The educational approach presented here reflects a preference for concrete explanations: introduce an idea, look at a short example, and try a small change. The focus stays on what a piece of Ruby code does and how to reason about its behaviour.
How the collection is organised
Each course has its own subject, module list and intended audience. Free Box introduces a value, a string and a first method through an on-site lesson. Other course listings describe PDF study guides for learners who want to work through a particular topic independently.
You do not need to choose the entire collection. Read the prerequisites and select the topic that fits your current questions. Higher-priced guides do not automatically include other courses.
What to expect
The materials are intended for self-paced study in English. A useful study session might involve reading a short explanation, tracing an example and writing down what changes when you adjust an input. A computer with Ruby installed is needed to run examples locally.
